Gmail Integration

Last Updated: July 19, 2026

RateGuard Pro lets a mortgage professional optionally connect their own Google account so that individual emails they write to a client are sent from their own Gmail address, in their own voice. This page explains exactly what the integration can do, what it never does, how Google account data is used and stored, and how to disconnect at any time.

1. The integration is optional

Connecting a Google account is entirely optional. RateGuard Pro works fully without it. If you do not connect Gmail, one-to-one emails you send from RateGuard Pro are delivered through our own secure email service instead. You can connect, disconnect, and reconnect at any time from your account settings.

2. What connecting Gmail does

When you connect your Google account, RateGuard Pro can send an individual email that you have written and reviewed, on your instruction, from your own Gmail address. This makes a message you compose to a client arrive as a normal personal email from you, rather than from a third-party system.

Every send is a single message that you initiate and approve inside RateGuard Pro. There is no automated, scheduled, or bulk sending through your connected Gmail account.

3. What permission we request, and what we never do

We request the minimum Google permission needed to send on your behalf: the ability to send email as your account (gmail.send). We request nothing that would let us read, browse, or manage your mailbox.

What the integration can doWhat it can never do
Send an individual email you have composed and approved, from your Gmail address Read, open, search, or download any email in your inbox or sent mail
Include your name and signature so the message looks like it came from you Delete, modify, archive, or label any of your messages
Confirm a send succeeded Send automated, scheduled, marketing, or bulk email through your account
Access your contacts, calendar, Drive, or any other Google data

4. How we use Google account data

RateGuard Pro uses the Gmail permission solely to deliver the specific one-to-one email you asked us to send. We do not use it for advertising, we do not sell it, and we do not transfer it to third parties except as needed to deliver the message you initiated. We do not use it to build a profile of you or your recipients, and we do not allow humans to read message content except where you ask us to for support, where it is required for security or to comply with the law, or where the content has been aggregated and de-identified.

Limited Use disclosure. RateGuard Pro's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

5. How we store and protect your connection

6. How to disconnect, and what is deleted

You can disconnect at any time in two ways. Either removes RateGuard Pro's ability to send from your Google account.

From inside RateGuard Pro

Open your account settings, find the connected Gmail account, and choose Disconnect. When you disconnect, RateGuard Pro revokes its access with Google and permanently deletes the stored authorization token from our systems. After that, any email you send from RateGuard Pro is delivered through our own email service until you choose to reconnect.

From your Google account

You can also remove access directly at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Find RateGuard Pro in the list of connected apps and choose Remove access. RateGuard Pro will no longer be able to send from your account.

Deleting your account. If you close your RateGuard Pro account, any stored Google authorization token is revoked and deleted along with your account data.
